I've used the original version of this for years and it's been great - so easy to remove all of my makeup. This one is not good for removing makeup - I have to leave it on for so long and rub so much and even after that I have panda eyes straight away. My eyes also itch - not sure whether that's the product or the fact that my makeup isn't being washed away completely. It's super difficult to wash off completely. I had a sample sized pot for some time and when I ran out of my usual cleaner I went to my drawer of Clinique goodies and dug this out. Quite a surprise with the texture at first but quickly realised that it does indeed turn to a soft balm as I massaged onto skin. I love this product as it is so lovely to use I now massage my face as part of my night routine and both my skin and my stress levels have improved. Thank you Clinique for a great gift. I have very oily skin. I'd been using the clear cleansing balm but the charcoal version came out, so opted for that. It didn't really make any difference to my skin in terms of controlling oil. I find it hard to wash off. If it gets on your clothes or towels it stains (but does wash out) and leave stains on the sink which is a pain to wash down.
